It’s NEVER Too Late to Start Keeping the Memories That Matter

It's Never Too Late to Start Preserving School Memories

Maybe You're Thinking...

"I wish I had started years ago."

If you've ever looked at memory books, photo albums, or school keepsakes and thought, "Well...I missed my chance," I want you to know something.

You haven't.

My baby is about to start his senior year of high school.

And if you mention that particular S-word in our house...well...let's just say we're pretending it's not happening yet.

Last weekend we took his yearbook graduation photos.

The photographer handed him a cap and gown, and suddenly there he was.

Standing in front of me looking way too grown up.

Never mind the fact that the gown was really more of a short little photo drape with his summer shorts and legs sticking out underneath. 😂

It still hit me.

Hard.

Because for just a second, I could see graduation day coming...and I wasn't ready.

It Really Does Go By Fast

Everyone tells you to enjoy the little moments because they'll be gone before you know it.

They're right.

One day you're packing tiny backpacks and tying Velcro shoes.

The next you're scheduling graduation photos and wondering how in the world eighteen years disappeared so quickly.

It's enough to make any parent wish they'd done a better job documenting it all.

The Good News? You Can Start Today.

One of my favorite things about the Class Keeper® App is that it doesn't matter when you begin.

I definitely didn't start when my son was in preschool.

Instead, I went back.

I added years of school photos.

I created custom albums for karate, scouts, vacations, and all those moments that didn't fit neatly into one grade.

I added Keepers—little notes capturing funny things he said, proud moments, accomplishments, and memories I never want to forget.

The beauty of digital memory keeping is that you're never behind.

You're simply telling the story.

Don't Let Facebook Be Your Family Archive

You know those Facebook memories that pop up every morning?

"8 years ago today..."

I love seeing them.

But I don't love waiting another year before they show up again.

And honestly? I learned another important lesson the hard way.

A while back, I lost access to my Facebook account for nine months because of an account verification glitch. I tried everything I could think of, but with no real human customer support to contact, I was stuck waiting and hoping my account would eventually be restored.

It was a scary reminder that the memories we share online aren't really in our control.

Now, whenever one of those Facebook memories appears, I save the photo—or even the text from the original post—and add it to my son's Class Keeper® profile.

Those memories now live somewhere that's organized by his story—not by a social media algorithm.

I don't have to wait for Facebook to decide when I get to see them again.

I can open his profile anytime I want, search for a specific memory, browse a particular school year, or revisit a favorite moment whenever my heart needs it.

Social media is wonderful for sharing life's moments.

But Class Keeper® is where I keep them.

Your Story Doesn't Have to Be Perfect

Maybe you've missed a few years.

Maybe you've missed a lot of years.

That's okay.

Your child isn't going to count how many memories you saved.

They're going to be grateful you saved the ones you did.

Start with today.

Add yesterday when you have time.

Then keep working backward whenever inspiration strikes.

Before you know it, you'll have a collection of memories you thought were gone forever.

Because One Day...

One day you'll blink.

You'll be standing behind a camera while your child wears a cap and gown—even if it's a funny little photo version with shorts peeking out underneath.

And you'll be incredibly thankful you took the time to gather the moments that brought them there.

Because it was never about creating a perfect timeline.

It was always about preserving the story.

And thankfully...

It's never too late to start.
